About

Kimono Dresser Yuko Niwa

photo of Yuko NiwaYuko Niwa's passion for kimono began in her youth, inspired by her mother's love for traditional Japanese attire. She earned her license from the Japan Waso Consultant Association as a Kimono Dresser and Instructor.

Since moving to San Diego in 1994, she has been actively promoting Japanese traditional culture through activities such as kimono fashion shows and kimono photography at charity events.

In 2014, Yuko joined the San Diego Kimono Club, where she teaches kimono dressing and organizes fashion shows and demonstrations. Her love for kimono extends beyond her professional work; she enjoys wearing kimono and dining with fellow members.

Additionally, she provides kimono dressing services every year for the Shichi-Go-San and Coming-of-Age ceremonies held at the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego. I invite you to join us for these special occasions!
